The piano is a beautiful piece of furniture and a complex musical instrument with about 230 strings with a combined tension load of
nearly 18 tons. It is the end result of over 200 years of engineering to bring you a unique sound and sensitive touch. The inner
mechanism or the action is an assembly of thousands of intricate levers, pads, springs and screws made from wood, leather, wool felts,
metals and some plastics. Regulation is the adjustment and alignment of these parts to compensate for wear and to restore tone,
performance and the proper key touch.
